PURPOSE OF THE DAY
This is a test and tune, skill enhancement day. It is
NOT a race day. Rider's have a lot of freedom at our
events. However, with freedom also comes responsibility. Everyone
attending our events is expected to ride smart and exercise
good judgement while on the track. If you are riding at 100%
of your abilities, you are probably going
to crash or cause someone else to crash.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
- 07:00 am - Gates open.
- 08:15 am - Rider's meeting begins. PLEASE BE ON TIME!!!
- 08:50 am - Orientation laps
- 09:00 am - Track open
- 1:00 pm - The track will close for lunch and the track walk.
- 2:00 pm - Track reopens!
- 6:00 pm - Checkered flag! The track will close.
TECH INSPECTION
Please read our Tech
Requirements.
ORIENTATION LAPS
After the rider's meeting there will be 2 orientation laps
on the track. They are mandatory if it is your first time riding
at that facility, and optional for those already familiar with
the track. During these laps you will be shown the track layout
as well as the entry and exit locations.
TRACK ENTRY/EXIT
It is imperative that you look far up the track to ensure that
no riders are coming before you enter the track. DO NOT proceed directly to the racing line until
well beyond the entry zone and at the proper speed to blend
into the traffic.
When exiting the track, it is critical that you signal the
riders behind you as early as possible. Get a hand high into
the air and then move slowly from the racing line. Suddenly throwing a hand up and exiting at the last second creates a very dangerous situation! There may
be another rider behind you that was setting up to make a pass and
your sudden move could cause a collision. Also, once you have
signaled that you plan to exit the track, there is NO changing
your mind. If you decide to do a few more laps, complete your
exit and then proceed to the entrance to re-enter the track.
FLAGS
 |
GREEN - The
track is open! |
 |
RED - The track
is closed, most likely due to a crash or some other hazard
that needs to be cleaned up. Put your arm in the air when
you see this flag and slow your pace considerably. Leave
the track when you reach the EXIT point. |
 |
CHECKERED - End of the session, continue
your lap and leave the track when you reach the EXIT point.
|
 |
YELLOW - This flag could be waving or
steady. In either case, slow your pace slightly and be extra
vigilant for a possible trouble spot. The track will remain
open but there is some kind of hazard that could cause a
problem. Passing is NOT allowed within the zone where this
flag is displayed! |
 |
BLACK flag - This flag will be pointed
directly at you and means that there is something seriously
wrong with your bike. Raise your arm and move off the racing
line in case you are leaking fluids. DO NOT continue to
the track exit point. Immediately leave the track surface
when you reach a non-runoff area and wait for us to come
and pick you up. |
 |
MEATBALL flag - This flag will be pointed
directly at you and means that we need to talk to you for
some reason. Continue your lap, leave the track when you
reach the EXIT point, and proceed to the TrackAddix trailer.
|
 |
AMBULANCE flag - Someone has crashed
and is injured. This flag will be accompanied by a RED flag.
The ambulance is on the track and heading for the crash
site. Put your arm in the air when you see this flag and
slow your pace considerably. Leave the track when you reach
the EXIT point. |
PASSING
A safe, clean, and courteous pass is the rule here.
We do not restrict inside/outside passing and do not set some
arbitrary distance limit that can't really be enforced
anyway. We ask that you be courteous of your fellow riders when
passing. It is the faster rider's primary responsibility to
make a safe, clean, and courteous pass on the rider he is overtaking.
It is the slower rider's secondary responsibility to hold their
line and not do anything weird or make any sudden moves when
being overtaken. You will get plenty of track time throughout
the day so there is no need to stuff someone in a corner or
make a risky pass that might jeopardize the safety of the other
rider.
CRASHING!
Testing the abrasion resistance of your leathers is not a
recommended activity as it will increase the cost of your
track day exponentially! Again, this is NOT a race day!!!
If you are riding at 100% of your ability, you are putting
yourself and other riders at risk for no reason. If you crash
it hurts everyone. At best, the track will have to be closed
for a short period of time to recover you and your wreck.
At worst, you could sustain serious injury, cause someone
else to sustain serious injury, and/or destroy your bike.
Should you have the misfortune of crashing, we will do our best to recover you
and your bike as quickly as possible. If you are injured,
we will get medical help to you immediately.
STUNT RIDING, WHEELIES, STOPPIES, BURNOUTS, ETC
This is not the place! If you are looking to "win
friends and influence enemies" with your stunt riding abilities,
or ride in an otherwise "Squidly" manner, please work that
out at home with your local Police Department. We're sure
they will be duely impressed.
Stunt riding of any kind, on the track, in the paddock, or
anywhere else at the track facility will not be tolerated.
If you are intentionally riding sustained wheelies, or intentionally
raising the rear wheel off the ground in a sustained stoppie,
or doing burnouts you will be ejected from the event and you
will NOT receive a refund of any portion of your fee.
INSTRUCTION
We realize that sometimes you want to help your lesser experienced
friends by giving them instruction and pointers on their riding.
We think that's great, just don't do it while on the track.
Discuss what your going to do when you're in the pit, and
then go out on the track and do it. We do not want to see
you on the track riding alongside your buddy, visors up, and
talking about your riding techniques.
PIT/PADDOCK RULES
NO SMOKING!!! - There are just too many flammable liquids
around to risk starting a chain reaction of exploding motorcycles
and race trailers. Please leave the pit/paddock area if you
must smoke. Thank you!
SPEED - No faster than a brisk walk. There is a lot of activity
in the pit/paddock area, people walking around, etc. Please
keep your head on a swivel and ride carefully when in this area.
WALLS and FENCES - No climbing, sitting, or standing on pit
walls or fences.
DON'T BE A PIG!!! - You are an ambassador of your sport and
we are guests at these track facilities. Before you leave, check
around your pit area and dispose of any trash properly.
PETS and KIDS
Whether your pets are your kids, or your kids are your pets,
our events are NOT a playground for them. There is much activity
and the environment can be hazardous for them. Both, children
and pets must be kept under your direct supervision at all times.
Pets must be kept on a leash and you must pick up and properly
dispose of their droppings.
PIT BIKES
Pit bikes, scooters, bicycles, etc are for getting from place
to place quickly around the paddock and racing facility. They
are not to be used to "goof" around on, have pit bike races
around the paddock, or occupy your children while you're out
on the track. Children riding any motorized vehicle must be
wearing a helmet and other appropriate protective gear.
DRUGS and ALCOHOL
- As far as illicit or illegal drugs go, DON'T EVEN THINK
ABOUT IT!!!
- As far as alcohol is concerned, there is a time and a place,
THIS AIN'T IT!!!
- If we even think you are impaired by any of these substances
you will be ejected from the event and you will NOT receive
a refund of any portion of your fee. Nuff said.
TRACK WALK
During the lunch break, an optional track walk will be offered
to those riders who wish a slower view of the track. We will
transport you via truck or trailer and stop at several of the
more challenging corners on the track. Discussions will take
place regarding the lines, braking points, etc. Family and friends
are welcome to join in!
